Notes: Please let Mavis and Keenan know they will need to make up the Short Story Structure 10 Q MC quiz on teams. I will touch base with them on Tuesday re: this. Keenan will complete resource next week Block F - Mavis - in homework club next Tues, Wed or Thurs her choice. 


1. Silent Reading Personal Novels 20 min

2. Students to get their Sightlines 8 Texts - Thank you Ma’am – TTOC to Read Aloud. Page 14 Sightlines 8 - I introduced the story yesterday - provided bio on the author and went over the term - dialect re: the narration in the piece. Many students completed a individual silent read of this yesterday - Today is the day the teacher TTOC reads this story aloud :) 

3. Independent Work - Hand out Thank You Ma'am worksheets - located at the front of the room - large desk - with post it - Student Review and Complete Questions #1-6 Full sentences.

Provide students with 20ish min for completion. Students to complete this work independently. If they finish prior to others they can go back to their personal novel reads. Review and discuss answers after.

NOTE!!! - Near the end of class - there will be a Grade 8 Assembly - Take students down to the assembly for 11:20 AM -Assembly starts at 11:25. Lock door on way out.

Listen for announcement OR check with Ms. Grimm in the AM re: exact location - gym or theatre - assuming theatre - to bring Grade 8's down for assembly. School wide lunch also after Assembly. Please lock classroom door as you leave for assembly.
