Groups Stakeholder groups: Ski Bum Association, Reporter Revelstoke Review & Seniors Association of Revelstoke.  - 

Seniors - On Paper

Ski Bums - On Paper 

Reporters - Positive & Negative - Board. 






Task - Student Groups = after you have completed your group paragraph (with all grammar, correct spelling and format) please present your group work to the class.  

Discussion. E.g. T-Chart = similarities and differences between the perceived views of the project from various stakeholders - Ski Bum Association, Reporter Revelstoke Review & Seniors Association of Revelstoke. 

Students - ensure your names are ALL on your group paragraphs to hand in.

Independent Work - Hand out Thank You Ma'am worksheets - located at the front of the room - large desk - with post it - Student Review and Complete Questions #1-6 Full sentences. To Complete from Monday: Class Discussion Questions: Pair Work.  Understanding History : How does the history of Thanksgiving change the way we usually think about the holiday?  Celebrating Culture : In what ways can Indigenous communities take back Thanksgiving to highlight their own traditions and values? What special foods or customs could be included to honor Indigenous culture and gratitude? Cultural Appropriation vs. Appreciation : Iserhoff talks about food appropriation related to Thanksgiving. How can we tell the difference between appreciating another culture’s food and taking it without giving credit, especially during important holidays? Oct 14 2025 Continued - ‘Thank You Ma’am.’ Group Work

Silent Read 20 min Review Ambush - Class Discussion Sightlines - Ambush Pair Pg 61 1. What question was the narrator asked by his daughter? 2. How did he handle it? 3. What and where is ‘My Khe’? 4. Who is Kiowa? 5. In a short paragraph (5 sentences minimum) summarize the experience that haunts him. Develop FULL topic sentence, body - examples, and concluding statement here. Be ready to present! 6. How did Kiowa try and help the narrator? 7. Why does the narrator see ‘the young man coming out of the fog’ at the end of the story? Next Task: ‘Thank You Ma’am.’ Activity - Group Work   - Max 3 per group - Groups to complete  further assessment questions  re: ‘Thank You Ma’am.’ NOTE:  Each student to complete and fill in their own copy please!!!!
