Lesson - Writing for Purpose & Audience Writing - Please hand out to each Student: Purpose and Audience Writing Powerpoint Notes - total 2 pages double sided of 12 slides of notes. 20 min

Students will fill in the blanks while you teach the lesson via the completed teacher version of the powerpoint as linked below.

Task: regarding the last slide - sample paragraph - students to add what is missing from the sample paragraph to their copies in the notes area of the page. 10 min. 

After - review with the class correct updates to the paragraph. Options may vary from student to student.

Today's Task: 

Students: Using your example assigned to you and your group (Examples 1 Ski Bum Association, 2 Revelstoke Times Review and 3 Seniors Association of Revelstoke) work in your groups to develop a paragraph utilizing your assigned audience and purpose. (refer to power point for form and structure).

Below Required For Each Paragraph:



Groups of max 4 - rows are a good suggestion for ease of operations - I have copied 2 of each of the 3 example stakeholder groups: Ski Bum Association, Reporter Revelstoke Review & Seniors Association of Revelstoke.  - Thus 1 for each of the 6 groups. 

Task - Student Groups = after you have completed your group paragraph (with all grammar, correct spelling and format) please present your group work to the class. 20-30 min. 

Discussion. E.g. similarities and differences between the perceived views of the project from various stakeholders - Ski Bum Association, Reporter Revelstoke Review & Seniors Association of Revelstoke. 

Students - ensure your names are ALL on your group paragraphs.
